The Indelible Mark
Growing up in post-Holocaust Germany, I have long felt a profound degree of displaced guilt for the actions committed by my ancestors. This painting collection, sparked further by the recent discovery that one of my grandfathers was an agent in the Nazi regime, addresses this inheritance of atrocity. It has also led me to re-examine my own position on the continued presence of colonial injustice and inequality in my adopted home of Canada.
